Our Story

From the warehouse floor to your home

Our director's journey in the cabinetry industry began on the warehouse floor — and that hands-on foundation still shapes everything we do today.

Every Aurewood project draws on more than ten years of accumulated experience spanning materials, manufacturing, design and development — and a craftsman's instinct for cabinetry you can only earn by working with it from the raw board up. We design, build and install bespoke kitchens and cabinetry for discerning homes across Gauteng.

The Journey

A craft built over a career

Four chapters that shaped the way Aurewood designs, builds and installs.

01

Learning the Trade

Frank started his career as a warehouse manager for a leading board distributor specialising in melamine boards, MDF, particleboard, veneer boards, postform tops and laminates. It was here that he developed an intimate working knowledge of the materials that form the backbone of modern cabinetry — learning to distinguish between board types and finishes, understand their properties and applications, and master the cutting processes and machinery that transform raw sheets into precision-cut components. This early immersion gave him something that cannot be taught in a classroom: a craftsman's instinct for the materials themselves.

02

Building a Business

Armed with this expertise, he took the leap into entrepreneurship and founded his own kitchen and cabinetry business. The venture allowed him to combine technical knowledge with creative vision, delivering quality work that quickly earned him a strong reputation.

03

A Decade in Property Development

His success in cabinetry opened the door to a long-standing partnership in property development, where he spent years contributing his expertise to residential and commercial projects. This chapter broadened his perspective — teaching him how exceptional joinery integrates with architecture, design and the way people actually live in their homes.

04

Returning to His Craft

After a fulfilling run in development, he made the deliberate decision to return to the private market and focus on what he loves most: creating luxury, bespoke kitchens and cabinetry. Today, every project benefits from more than ten years of accumulated experience spanning materials, manufacturing, design and development.
